Chattahoochee
Hill Country (The Hill Country)
Area of land encompassing 65,000 acres in south Fulton, northwestern Coweta,
eastern Carroll, and Douglas counties, so designated by the Chattahoochee Hill
Country Alliance, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization of local landowners.

Chattahoochee
Hill Country Overlay District (The Overlay)
Zoning resolution adopted by Fulton County intended to protect the natural areas
of the Hill Country and ensure responsibly planned, economic, and social growth.
Applies to all properties located in that portion of south Fulton County
bordered to the west by the Chattahoochee River, to the south by Coweta County,
and to the east by Cascade-Palmetto Hwy (SR 154), except as noted in Section
12J.7.

City of
Chattahoochee Hill Country (Chattahoochee Hills or Chatt Hills)
Senate Bill 553 provides a charter for the City of Chattahoochee Hill Country
(Chatt Hills) and its incorporation, boundaries, and governing power. Appendix A
describes the territory, which presently consists of approximately 33,000 acres.
The bill goes to referendum on June 19, 2007 (community votes on incorporation).

Chattahoochee
Hills Organizing Committee (The Organizing Committee)
Georgia nonprofit organization comprised of more than 70 community
volunteers. The Organizing Committee is open to the community—anyone may attend
meetings or participate in the committee.
Vision
is for a locally controlled, locally protected Chattahoochee Hill Country.
Mission is to develop a plan which outlines
revenue sources, services provided, and other aspects of establishing the city
of Chattahoochee Hill Country; and to communicate this plan to the community
such that an informed electorate goes to the polls in June 2007.
Future City in
Chattahoochee Hills (Future City)
Effort led by the Organizing Committee to inform the community about the issues

landowners that led the community-wide effort to develop the Chattahoochee
Hill Country Overlay District.

organization that provides public education on the benefits on conservation
of greenspace and rural agricultural land in the Hill Country.

Chattahoochee Hill Country
Transfer of Development Rights Program (TDR)
A conservation initiative operated by CHCC that allows property owners
to sell the development rights to their property while retaining ownership
of the land itself. Developed for the CHCA area by Dr. Laurie Fowler and
Dr. Jamie Roskie of the University of Georgia School of Law, College of the
Environment.

Hill Country Montessori:
(previously named Chattahoochee Hill Country Neighborhood School)

Citizens: (501)(c)(4)] nonprofit organization that serves as a
clearinghouse for many activities affecting the creation of the City of
South Fulton.

Alliance: (501)(c)(3]) nonprofit organization that serves as a
clearinghouse for many activities affecting the corridor along the Parkway.

South Fulton Scenic
Byway: Designated by the Georgia Department of Transportation under
the
Georgia Scenic Byways Program, the South Fulton Scenic Byway is a
29-mile loop in south Fulton County that highlights the rural character and
lifestyle of the surrounding area.
