Church History

Vernon Grove Baptist Church was established in the year of our Lord and Savior (1878). The church birthday date is May 24, which on its last birthday the church turned 131 year old.

During this time and course of the ministry, Vernon Grove Baptist Church also operated as a schoolhouse with the grade ranging from first grade to seventh grade. Many of our members attended the school at that time.

In the rear of the church, there is a cemetery. Some of the head stone that can be seen is dated from the year 1800 and earlier.

Many pioneers has enter this sanctuary and left a mark in this historical church, such as (18) Pastor's, many Deacon's and layperson's. Who have been taught both economically, and spiritually concerning man way and God way.

The vision of the Vernon Grove Baptist church is to Reach, Teach and Equip whosoever it may be, to be productive bold members of the community. Serving into whatever capacity they deem necessary to make thing work for the good of him who has sent them.

Vernon Grove motto is found in the scripture of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the book of Proverb 3 chapter verses 5/6, which say *Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. But in all your way acknowledge him, and he will direct your path.

The church doors swing open on welcome hinges. Come and be a part of our Worship.
